Roe came to me for a music video for his song Basement. Instead of the obvious route, a bunch of people partying in a basement, he wanted something simpler and more intentional. One artist, a few locations. We shot it in a stairwell, a theater, and a studio. I loved that approach because it plays against the song in a cool way. It is a track built for a crowd to sing along to, but the video is really just him and his manager vibing to it. To me that says something, you can put this song on with a room full of people or listen to it completely alone and still feel it the same way. Shooting it was a blast. Rowe has great energy, and figuring out the camera movement for each space was its own fun challenge.
